Our chiropractors are doctors with a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care. They can help patients with a number of ailments, including poor posture, spinal misalignment, and joint/muscle pain, among others. The goal is diminished pain and improved health.

What Do Chiropractors Treat?

Chiropractors are best known for treating back and neck pain, but chiropractic has also been found to be helpful for leg and arm problems, whiplash, chronic headaches and migraines, arthritic changes, jaw problems, vertigo, digestive disorders, and scoliosis. Still, the majority of patients who seek chiropractic care do so related to back pain, neck pain, or pain in the limbs or joints.

How Will a Chiropractor Help Me?

The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as “spinal manipulation,” or “chiropractic adjustment.”   The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become restricted because of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, may restore mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.

Our chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and often recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.
